Thanks for a great tournament!

This was an unusual year for us in photographing the SCVA Qualifiers. In years past, we have been limited to providing photography at only one location - the American Sports Center. However, early this year, we began piloting a two booth arrangement. As our business model and processes have matured and our staff has become better trained (and I have become more confident in our abilities and the stability of our software), we decided to try our hand at splitting the group this season and photographing in more than one location.

The tournaments at which we did this in the past we two location tournaments that essentially acted like different events - teams didn't change locations, they were grouped by ages. Working in this way, we didn't have to worry about updating datasets during the night.

However, the SCVA is a bit of additional twist to that - in this tournament teams change locations during the weekend, sometimes even playing in more than one location a day.

Because our software runs on custom servers, it is not accessible online. So, in order to make the images, users, requests and orders available at multiple locations, we spent some a few late nights updating the databases and then grabbing a few hours of sleep before getting up to go at it another day.

It was tiring and stressful, but worth the effort and was great proof that it could be done!

We plan on more events like this in the future ... and hope to streamline things a bit more so that we get to bed before 3 in the morning!

Thankfully, we had a great tournament - it was the best single weekend of photography we've had in SoCal in six years of photographing there.

We are in the process of preparing the orders for processing. We have the 2nd weekend of Colorado to finish first, but I plan to have those done by the end of this week.

Our goal is to have the SCVA orders processed and to the lab before we leave for Reno and the Far Westerns tournament! If we can meet this goal, it will mean a sub four week delivery time, which is something we always strive for, but can't always hit.
